Marketing Intern Maik
Maik is doing his internship on Curaçao at Dynaf Group from 1 February 2021 until 18 June 2021.
An internship at the marketing department of Dynaf Group
In the middle of the corona pandemic, I decided to do my graduation internship on Curaçao. I was the only one from my year (hbo ce) who wanted to do his graduation internship abroad and it took quite some time to get done and to arrange all the papers. In addition, the uncertainty ‘will it go through, will it not go on’, that remained intense until the last moment! In the end it worked and I left at the end of January from an empty Schiphol and in a half-occupied plane to the beautiful island of Curaçao. In hindsight one of the best decisions I could have made. In the Netherlands you probably had to do your internship online at home and you were indoors for the first few months. Here I could immediately start working at the office and the rules on the island were not strict.
I did my internship at Dynaf. A growing and innovative company where you can apply your skills. At Dynaf you will be well received and you will immediately become part of the team. You work independently and keep control over your work. You get the freedom and I was able to do a lot with the social media channels. I was also allowed to implement all the ideas I had for campaigns. We were able to do many new things that added value to the company. In this work you can be very independent and that prepares you for the future. Very informative and it looks good on your resume.
I wrote my graduation research about the introduction and sale of the electric charging stations by D-POINT, a Dynaf brand. I have written a strategic marketing plan to increase the sales of the charging stations. Because the daily activities and working on a thesis are independent of each other, it is necessary to find the balance between the two. Both must be given sufficient attention for a good end result.
At the end of my internship I can honestly say that I learned a lot at a great company on a beautiful island. You’re on the other side of the world, you don’t know anyone and you start at a new company. You learn a lot about independence. But you will also definitely take steps in the field of self-development during an internship on Curaçao. I have learned to work independently and to be a manager of my own projects. But it’s also just great fun to get to know other students and go out with them. You often form close groups and make friendships for life.
